“The Imminence of Poetics,” 30th Bienal de São Paulo artists announced

At a press conference held on 12 April, the chief curator Luis Pérez-Oramas introduced his list of artists for the 30th Bienal de São Paulo.

Curated by Luis Pérez-Oramas with André Severo, Tobi Maier and Isabella Villanueva, the title “The Imminence of Poetics” reflects the desire to look at the public and participatory nature of art, united by the process or ideology, rather than exhalting the individual. Among the 110 artists selected from 21 different countries the majority come from South America: 23 from Brazil, 13 from Venezuela… Some of the big names include Waldemar Cordeiro, Allan Kaprow, August Sander, Hans-Peter Feldmann and Robert Smithson. The Bienal will be on view from September 7 to December 9 at Ciccillo Matarazzo Hall in Parque do Ibirapuera.
