ANNA KONIK

Lubliniec, Poland, 1974. Lives and works in Warsaw and Dobrodzien, Poland.

Anna Konik’s work can be invisible or transparent but perceptible; emotions, indefinable intuitions, the inner world accessible through dreams or introspection. Her protagonists

are people existing at the fringes of reality. Konik directs the viewer’s attention towards loneliness, confusion and over-sensitivity. Space plays an important role in Konik’s work and it is consciously constructed to organically coexist with video projections. (Sabina Sokolowska)

Our Lady’s Forever (detail), 2007. Installation view at Zacheta National Gallery, Warsaw.

Represented by: Lokal_30, Warsaw.
