LAURA PAWELA

Rybnik, Poland, 1977. Lives and works in Warsaw.

The most important thing in my works is imagination. I always try not to limit myself to one medium; I work with installation, video, objects, reenactment according to the starting idea. Often I am just inspired by casual situations that have trapped me in some way. I work with the dualism of our contemporary informatic era without any surety that we have one or more realities. Recently I have been inspired by the surrealism of human emotion, weird memories, different states of mind.

(Laura Pawela)

Untitled (Last Exit for the Lost), 2007. Video still.

Represented by: Lokal_30, Warsaw; Zak| Branicka, Berlin.
