PAVEL WOLBERG
| Leningrad, 1966. Lives and work in Tel Aviv. Wolberg's photographs evoke the gritty drama of traditional photojournalism, such as the black-and-white wartime photographs of Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson and other members of Magnum. Significantly, Wolberg works exclusively in color. His ability to translate the quality of light into rich hues and subtle tonalities speaks to highly exceptional proficiency and technical understanding of the medium. Above all, his photographs convey a sensitivity and grace born of vigilant and astute observation.
