ALESSANDRO PESSOLI

Cervia, Italy, 1963. Lives and works in Milan.

Alessandro Pessoli’s images seem to emerge not only from unconventional ideas or elaborate fantasy worlds, but from extreme mental states. It is as if the artist can switch from his everyday reality to a parallel universe in which he captures visions,

which he delivers to the viewer through his work. Thus, in his heterogeneous production he brings to life uncanny figures that seem to emerge from an eccentric and psychedelic world. Each work emerges from a montage of disparate elements

drawn as much from art history as from the world of comics and cartoons, and from glossy magazines and daily newspapers. (Ilaria Bonacossa)
