Rochelle Steiner, director of the Public Art Fund in New York, will leave her post on April 15 to pursue other projects. The fund has been operating for over 30 years and has been working to establish exhibitions of contemporary art throughout New York City, outside the traditional context of galleries and established institutions. Recently, Steiner has been responsible for projects such as The Rodney Graham Band live, featuring the amazing Rotary Psycho-Opticon in 2008, The New York City Waterfalls in New York Harbor by Olafur Eliasson, also last year, and Chris Burden’s What My Dad Gave Me (2008). www.publicartfund.org | | | Rochelle Steiner. |
