Eungie Joo new curator of the New Museum's "The Generational" Triennal

Eungie Joo has been appointed curator of the New Museum New York's Generational Triennial, starting in Spring 2012.

Joo has been the curator of public programmes and education at the Museum since 2007, and has also served as commissioner for the Korean Pavilion at the 53rd Venice Biennale in 2009.

During her career she has worked closely with international artists from the Americas, Asia, and Europe, focusing on new commissions. Before the position at the New Museum, Joo had been Director and Curator at REDCAT in Los Angeles, from 2003 to 2007.

"The Generational" is a showcase for emerging artists from around the world.

The first edition of the Triennial "Younger than Jesus", curated by Massimiliano Gioni, Laura Hoptman and Lauren Cornell opened in 2009, and included works by fifty artists from twenty-five countries, all under the age of thirty-three.
