Tiffany Foundation announces biennial grants

This year the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation has granted a total sum of $600,000 to 30 artists residing in the United States and working in the fields of painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, crafts and video.

 

The 30 selected artists — who will each receive an unrestricted grant of $20,000 — were chosen by a panel of fellow artists, critics and museum professionals from around the United States from an initial list of 400 candidates.

 

The awards are funded exclusively by the Foundation’s endowment and administered by Artists Space. The Foundation is guided by a board consisting of Angela Westwater (President), Robert Meltzer (Vice President), Robert F. Shapiro (Treasurer), Vaughn C. Williams (Secretary), William Bailey, Amanda M. Burden, Chuck Close, Amada Cruz, Carroll Dunham, Gerhardt Knodel, Kerry James Marshall, John Perreault, Martin Puryear, Nicolas Rohatyn, Cindy Sherman, Lowery Stokes Sims, Paul J. Smith, and

Robert Storr.

 

The recipients of the grant are: Derrick Adams, Diana Al-Hadid, Dawolu Jabari Anderson, Lisa Anne Auerbach, Andrea Bowers, Tania Bruguera, Matthew Buckingham, Beth Campbell, David Colosi, Kate Gilmore, Josephine Halvorson, Michael Hurwitz, Colter Jacobsen, An-My Lê, Judy Linn, Katherine Newbegin, John Newman, Sarah Oppenheimer, Ann Pibal, Matthias Pliessnig, Julika Rudelius, Matt Saunders, Joseph Scanlan, Gedi Sibony, Dean Snyder, Alison Elizabeth, Christopher Taylor, Phoebe Washburn, Suara Welitoff and Joe Zane.
