Isidre Fainé, president of la Caixa and Fundación la Caixa, and Leopoldo Rodés, Chairman of the Board of the MACBA Foundation, have agreed to a merge their respective foundations’ contemporary art collections. The merger means that a single advisory committee would manage the two collections and the establishment of a coordinated works acquisition policy. The two foundations will co-produce exhibitions featuring works from both collections, which together comprise some 2,400 works.
